▸Is it really one price?
Yes. One purchase, no subscription, no in-app upgrades. It covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
▸Do I need an account or a connection?
No. Open the app and start writing. Everything works offline.
▸Is there a free version?
Yes. The free web teleprompter has the core prompter in your browser: paste a script, set your speed, mirror, theme and camera backdrop. It doesn't save scripts, and voice follow, remote control and recording are in the app.
▸How do I set the speed?
Speed is in words per minute (characters per minute for Japanese and Chinese scripts). Use − and +, press and drag left or right on the speed control, or use the up and down arrow keys. 130 to 160 WPM is a natural speaking pace.
▸Can I change the text size while reading?
Yes. Pinch on the screen or trackpad, or drag the size control. You stay on the same words.
▸What is voice follow?
Turn on Voice in the prompter and your voice drives the scroll: the text moves only while you're talking and waits when you stop. Voice and autoscroll are one or the other. It listens to sound levels only. It never turns your speech into text, and nothing is recorded or sent.
▸How do I use it with teleprompter glass?
Open settings in the prompter and turn on Flip horizontally, or press M on a keyboard.
▸How does remote control work?
Open a script on the device you'll read from. On another iPhone, iPad or Mac, choose Remote Control from the ⋯ menu in the library and pick that device. Both need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth turned on.
▸How do I bring in a script?
Use the arrow next to New Script: import a Word, PDF, RTF or text file, paste a Google Docs link, or paste text. You can also drag files onto the script list, or open them with Fieldlines from Files or Finder.
▸Where do my recordings go?
To your Photos library on iPhone and iPad, and to Movies › Fieldlines on Mac.
▸Can I prompt a conversation with several speakers?
Yes. Start each line with a name and a colon, like ALEX:. As soon as a script has two or more names, Fieldlines gives each speaker a color, moves the marker to their side and shows their name. There's nothing to turn on.
▸What are notes?
Start a line with //, like // take a breath and pause here. While prompting it shows up as a reading direction in its own style, and it's never counted in your reading time. You can hide notes in the prompter's settings.
▸Can I use a foot pedal or keyboard?
Yes. Space plays and pauses, arrows change speed and jump, Home starts over. Most Bluetooth page-turner pedals work out of the box.
